The Nitnoid Wars, Part 1

Cast: The cast is expandable, including the five “Grungerats,” along with various numbers of “Censoids” and some possible adult roles.

Set: The set is minimal, as are the props.

Synopsis: Set in the future during a period of worldwide natural disasters and famine, THE NITNOID WARS, Part 1 is about a group of children who manage to elude a new tyrant and his cyber army. Helped by a teacher and an old former CIA agent, the children become their own family and fight for freedom by singing songs and telling stories and using their ingenuity.

Coming soon is the sequel, THE NITNOID WARS, Part 2, the further adventures of the group who call themselves “The Grungerats.”

Running Time: Around an hour and forty minutes, plus intermission.

Music: There are eight songs in the show.

Costuming: Costuming is contemporary, although the “Censoids” require some kind of similar uniform.

Performance history: THE NITNOID WARS, Part 1 premiered at the Donna Reed Festival in Denison, Iowa in June of 2006. It was produced by the Circle Theatre of Omaha, NE in August of that year, and is slated to be performed in January, 2009 in Modale, IA. The play will be produced in July, 2009 at Coastal Repertory Theatre in Half Moon Bay, CA. Scripts and cd’s are available upon request.
